Your Medicinal Herbs
Parsley is a reliable diuretic that is totally underrated today. It helps the kidneys flush excess fluids, heals and prevents kidney and gall stones, and is nourishing to the adrenal glands. Parsley is also rich in vital minerals, containing more iron than many other green leafy vegetables. Parsley is remarkable at expelling excess fluids, excess mucus, flatulence, and reducing swollen and enlarged glands. And the cool thing? It’s so easy to access and is completely affordable.
Cilantro binds onto toxic heavy metals and helps to clear them from your body. Cilantro is also brain and liver cleansing according to the Medical Medium. It’s good for balancing blood sugar as well as for reducing anxiety. Another cool thing about cilantro is that it helps protect against UVB damage. This plant has been studied and shown to be neuro protective and anti inflammatory, among many other amazing things!
In Ayurveda, cucumber is celebrated for its cooling and hydrating properties, making it an ideal ingredient for balancing the fiery Pitta dosha. Rich in water content, cucumber helps to quench thirst and replenish body fluids, combating the heat and dryness of summer. It also aids in detoxification, flushing out toxins and supporting kidney function. Additionally, cucumber's anti-inflammatory properties soothe the skin and digestive tract, promoting overall digestive health and reducing acidity. Incorporating cucumber into your diet can help keep you cool, refreshed, and balanced during the hottest months.
Limes improve hydrochloric acid production as well as bile production - all great things for digestion! Additionally, the Medical Medium shares that limes contain micro mineral salts that break down pathogens like unfriendly bacteria, yeast, mold etc. to reduce your body’s toxic load. Lime helps the liver and loosens and disperses fat cells, cleans up the blood, and helps to protect the pancreas. Lime is slightly cooler than lemon so it’s a great choice during Summer or for Pitta folks.
Ghee is an Ayurvedic staple - it’s at the top of all fats. Ghee clarified butter, which means the milk proteins/solids have been removed. Many people who are lactose intolerant can eat ghee. It’s very nourishing and balancing to all Dosha types. Ghee is a digestive. It helps to improve absorption and assimilation. It nourishes ojas (your radiance, & glow), tejas (mental fire) and prana (life force). Ghee helps the body be flexible by lubricating connective tissues. Ghee is a yogavahi—a catalytic agent that carries the medicinal properties of herbs into the seven dhaus or tissues of the body. Ghee pacifies Pitta and Vata and is acceptable, in moderation, for Kapha.
Bacopa is optional but if you can get it infused with ghee (my favorite brand here, no affiliation) it will uplevel your elixir! Bacopa is an Ayurvedic herb that is bitter, sweet and cooling. It's wonderful for memory, intellegince and concentration.
Each ingredient in this Summer Pitta Green Juice has been carefully selected for its unique Ayurvedic benefits. Together, these ingredients create a refreshing elixir that nourishes, hydrates, and balances your body during the hot summer months.
So, grab your blender, whip up this cool concoction, and let the summer vibes flow! Stay hydrated, stay balanced, and enjoy every refreshing sip. Cheers to a chill and vibrant summer! 🌞🥒
