Chai is the elixir of inspiration. –Meera Lee Patel

Inspired by Ayurvedic principles of wellness, these chai-spiced ladoos (bliss balls) target Kapha Dosha health. Spring is the season of Kapha dosha, when we tend to have qualities of heavy and cold. The warming spices of turmeric and a chai blend help to balance these qualities.

These bliss balls also feature pine pollen, an invigorating herb that counters the sluggishness often associated with Kapha Dosha. Pine pollen is ultra nourishing - basically it's nature's gold! My favorite brand is Root & Bones.

Golden Chai Bliss Balls Recipe

Gather your ingredients!

  • 1 cup sprouted rolled oats

  • 1 serving of your fave vanilla protein powder

  • ½ cup cashew butter

  • ¼ cup fresh ground flax seeds

  • ¼ cup raw honey

  • 1 tablespoon pine pollen powder

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1 teaspoon masala chai spice blend

Prepare the goodness!

  1. Mix everything in a bowl until well combined. If your dough is too oily/sticky, add 1-2 TBS coconut flour which will absorb excess oil. This depends largely on the cashew butter you use. You can use raw or roasted cashew butter.

  2. Use a small cookie scoop to form into balls. Place them on a cookie sheet covered with wax or parchment paper. Cover and freeze to set.

  3. Optional: drizzle with melted Lily's white chocolate chips and sprinkle on a little bee pollen.

Fun note: the word "chai" means tea, so chai spices refer to a blend of spices typically used to flavor Indian tea including ginger, cinnamon, cardamom and pepper. The turmeric is what makes these treats "golden" and gives them an anti-inflammatory kick. This combination of flavors is unique and beyond delicious! Enjoy!
